It is with a joyous heart that I get to announce a great blessing that has come into my life. I have been asked to speak and present a workshop on Infant Loss in November.
The Birth and Beyond Conference is a wonderful gathering of the greatest minds in women’s health. Put together by two of the fiercest and most passionate women I know, the Birth and Beyond Conference is meant to open up discussion to impact change for pregnant women and their children. It focuses on bringing together the birth community, lactation consultants, doctors, OB’s, midwives, nurses and support persons in a spirit of unity and togetherness with a common goal. This years Birth and Beyond promises to be extraordinary with the great Ina May Gaskin attending for all four days. I will be presenting a workshop with the fabulous Carol Peat, a counsellor on Infant Loss and someone whom was a wonderful resource for me in the early days of grief. This opportunity will allow me to share what I have learnt as a Baby Loss Mama, a PTSD survivor and take part in the discussion for change. I am overwhelmed with what a wonderful opportunity this is and I do not find it coincidental that it came to fruition around Ava’s 2nd birthday, blessings from above. Thank you, my darling girl.
I would encourage everyone to take a look at the link below. Registration started yesterday and is filling up quickly.
As well, the organizers are putting together symposium on Postpartum Depression; presented by Kathleen Kendall-Tackett. Take a look at your bookshelves, ladies, I guarantee you that you have a breastfeeding book written by her. One of the leading minds in postpartum depression and breastfeeding this promises to be a very educational and thought provoking day.
